Backflow Testing & Reporting

Backflow.jpg

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires a backflow device to be in place in certain locations such as: irrigation systems, sprinkler systems. The IDEM also requires this backflow device be tested by licensed backflow inspector and findings be reported once per year.

Backflow is the reverse flow of water into your potable water supply. This can introduce unsafe materials and contaminants to your water supply, and can not only affect your home but the surrounding households in your community as well.

To ensure safe, clean water every time you open the tap, it is your responsibility to have your backflow prevention device tested at least once a year. Our licensed backflow inspector can test and certify any backflow device in the state of Indiana.

When you call our customer service representative to schedule the testing of your backflow device, we will ask the following questions:

  1. Is the backflow device above or below ground?

  2. How many backflow devices do you have?

  3. Where is the device located?

  4. Is this a home or business?

We will them provide you with pricing for the backflow test, including the reporting of our findings to the IDEM. If your device should fail our testing, our inspector will make recommendations for repair.
